Football EM in the Ukraine - shame on FIFA for allowing this

Olympics given to China. Formula One given to Bahrein.

Football given to the Ukraine.

This is despicable. Not far away from the Chinese's destruction of homes of the poor, and chasing them away, to make for a nicier tourist photo motive.

Olympics in London - let'S see how big the financial disaster will be for the Brits (so far Olympic games always have been costing the host more than he gained in longterm benefit, I heared a critic'S organisation arguing on basis of volumes of economic and fincial numbers). Until then, we will have the Euroviision in Baku - the mafia's very own capital.

It's so good when money can buy everything and everybody!

I suppose you could add Russia to that list (world cup 2018)

Merkel boycotted the Ukraine sports propaganda show first, then other european government followed, now the whole EU polit bureau boycotts as well.

Two notes.

First, the right thing gets done, but for the misled reason. Tymoshenko herself is a representative and a product of a well-linked financial and economical and political power-elite that played ice-cold and tough on opponents like the current regime now plays on her. Tymoshenko since many years also was linked to the twilight area between such elites and organised crime. She is a shark that now gets bitten by a bigger shark.

So, second: the show itself should be boycotted. By that I mean the teams. The visitors. National football associations should refuse to go and play there, becasue they know they are being abused, like the Nazis abused the Olympic games for propaganda.

It all should be boycotted - not because of Tymoshenko, but because the systemtic suporession of ffreedom in the countrry. The tyrannic methods of the regime, turning the Ukraine more and more into a deja-vu of the authoritarian police-state that existed in the Soviets' realm when the iron curtain still was there. Because of the censorship of the press, and the intimidation and brutalising of the opposition. And, like in the first article in the first posting describes, because the ourists get ripped o´ff in the hotels and poor students must evacuate their flats that get rent to the tourists - whith the students still needing to pay for the flats, or do day-long unpayed work during the competition.

So, there are plenty of reaosns why the Ukraine should be boycotted, and why FIFA should fall to its knees in shame.

Will it happen? No. People will not even boycott TV stations and not watch games from Ukrainian cities, to send the responsibles a message by record lows in TV quotas. Because in the end 9 of 10 people or so will prioritize their personal 90 minutes of game entertainment over the hiacking of the tournament by a police-state.

Fun is more important than human rights and freedom, that means. Let'S party. We did that in China during the Olympics as well, didn'T we. We do it soon again with the Eurovision in Azerbaijhan.

In other words: we all should be ashamed.

This years's European football cup - is just a worthless piece of crap. All reasons given for why the teams still go there that I have heared so far, where just foul alibi excuses. The gold is so alluring. I will enjoy games broadcasted from Polish places, nothing of my criticism is aimed at Poland hosting half of the tournament. But stations broadcasting from the Ukraine can kiss me where the sun never shines.
