Here's an interesting fact:
In Slovenia st: George is known as sv. Jurij. Sv Jurij was on a 1000 dinar banknote issued in 1920 pre-communist Yugoslavia and from that the term Jurja (a George roughly translated) originated for 1000 dinar, and the tolar and now the euro. 5000 euroes is called 5 jurjev (5 georges) http://www.orlovac.eu/novac/judinar/...30.11.1920.jpg |
Boris is happy, something to do he has now a 10% lead over Ken. :hmmm:
Anyway back to the feel good day, cheers jim. BossMark have you got the feel good factor today? |

In France, St George is the Patron Saint of Cavalry (and riders, too).
He is celebrated in all Tank Regiments (Cavalry Regiments are rather rare currently ...) each April 23. As a former Dragoon Officer, and now a as rider, only one word today : "Par Saint-Georges, vive la Cavalerie !" "By Saint George, long live Cavalry !" |
