Damaged ships in convoys.

Greetings,

I'm attacking a convoy just West of Gibraltar. It is led by a Black Swan frigate which is burning there are also several ships in the convoy burning as well.

My question is if I sink any of these damaged ships will I get the credit?

I opted to sink a couple of undamaged Empire class transports instead. I am now back on the surface after avoiding the subsequent counterattack by the escorts and am persuing the convoy for a second go.

A vessel will sink/be destoyed when the last of the damage points are exhausted so providing you strike that final blow then yes you should get the credit/renown.

Scout around the rear of some convoys and you will be able to pick off stragglers. Usually tramps, but I did get one wounded tanker.

I've seen a burning ship in a convoy once. It served as a nice beacon while I was shadowing the convoy at night and working my way around to firing position. :arrgh!:

I ended up sinking though. I missed a target in the adjacent column and hit the burning tramp steamer instead. :wah: I got credit for it though.

:)

Smaller escorts are susceptible to weather damage too.
