Two problems
Hi,
I'm in the middle of a TMO 2.5 campaign and just noticed something strange: 1) Without notice my base was shifted from Pearl to Freemantle. I was wondering my Pearl wouldn't let me dock when I noticed that the anchor symbol had changed. Is there a visible hint/radio message I missed? 2) After docking in freemantle I somehow "lost" the deck gun crew. The crew screen doesn't show any deck gun (I can man it manually, though). Is this a bug? |

Most of the time you get a notice of a base change but it's an easy message to miss. From Pearl to Fremantle is an unusual change unless requested.
I don't think I have ever had that one. As far as the deck gun goes there is a bug but it has to do with up grades most of the time. What boat are you in and what is the date? Magic |
The deck gun thing just happened to me but my home port was Fremantle. I had returned after a patrol and they gave me a new boat. I lost all my purchased upgrades as few they were. The main thing was I also lost the deck gun. There is simply no where to put the men now and the boat itself does not have the gun any longer.:damn:

I'm in a Tambor, date is ~September or October in 1942.

The deck gun thing seems to be a date issue something is not supposed to be available at this date.
You might try loading up the auto save entering port and not taking the new boat or if that is not an option do not request a deck gun position different than the one you had before. If that doesn't work take your boat out for a short patrol, two weeks or so (lots of high TC) and try again. There are still some bugs in the game. Magic |

Thanks for your replies, but I'm unsure what to make of the information in said thread. While the problem at hand seems to be related if not the same, I can't seem to grasp the direct link to the problem I described.

I went back out for over a month and my deck gun is still gone ... hope I get a new boat soon

EASY FIX
In TMO there is an Optional Mods folder, when in port (Fremantle), open the TMO file folder and take the "aft deck gun only" mod out of the TMO optional mods folder and add it with JSGME and all your gun problems should be solved....I only play aft deck guns and never had a Gun Bug. If you have a copy of TMO or download a new one you can take the mod out of that instead of deactivating everything in JSGME. Just add the 'aft deck gun only' mod last in you mod list. You can remove the 'aft deck gun only' mod after you upgrade to another class boat or keep it, that's up to you. Also as Mr. Vontrapp has suggested, you should add the TMO Small Fix mod...or you may have a Tambor class boat for the duration of the war. "Mr." Vontrapp..........I couldn't even keep a straight face just typing that :) Edit; Ooops, I didn't realize DrBeast pretty gave you the fix already, though I think the Gun Bug and Tambor Bug are two separate issues. I believe the Gun Bug has always been there, in stock and previous TMO's. |
