Keep sinking at just 1 knot
I think I have seen this on here before, but has never happened to me until today. For some reason while I am at 1 knot submerged my uboat keeps sinking? any explanation to this? it is pretty annoying when trying to evade escorts!
Thanks! |
Subs basically fly in the water. Need speed to maintain depth. Search "depth keeping" for more in depth threads.

Did you maybe stop a crash dive before it reached crash dive depth?
That is a known bug in the game-Crash Dive Blues. h.sie fixes it in his patch. It has happened to me a couple of times with an escort coming. You're right- it makes evading very difficult! It has come close to costing me a submarine. :) |
Which supermod are you using? NYGM has that sinking built in, as it's historically accurate. GWX doesn't but sharkbit's advice is true, and also if you have any hull damage at all it changes the sub's low-speed performance.

sharkbit, that is probably what happened, because yes, I did change my depth after I ordered crash dive.
Thanks Using GWX by the way. |

I had the opportunity to try it out this morning. :) |
Hold depth manually
(THIS IS FOR SILENT HUNTER 5)I posted it allready in an other thread but i think it fits better in this one.To hold a specific depth push strg/contr. and choose 0 m (or feet dont know i play german version)Now your boat holds the depth nearly constant. It takes a lot of time to sink.To change to a higher speed than 1 is not an option if you play with a.i. mod like me.But i know the only if you dont now better,i tried to play the same way but impossible because destroyers spot you again and again.Hope this helps in my case it works great.(This is for silent hunter 5)
