M.E.P v4 - PreView Pics
thanks to H.Sie's vampire night fix i decided to rework my enviro as critical corrections to scene.dat where needed .
at this new version almost everything is new....from 3d models, bump maps, reflection maps, colors, clouds but most important from all are the reworked enviro lights-fogs colors and distances for making the H.Sie's vampire fix working absolutely smoothly. the enviro is still at wip stage (some tiny details are left to be done) Some pics : http://img864.imageshack.us/img864/4373/53607055.png http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/9861/95603773.png http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/4482/16343936.png http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/8890/14598901.png http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/247/17268327.png http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/8214/86206524.png http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/7195/40182866.png |

It seems the pre-definitive environment for SH3 (I´m sorry, but you know the definitive will be the HAHD environment...). Many thanks and regards. Fitzcarraldo :Kaleun_Salute: |
Great news, makman94
I like your environmental pack very much, imho it's the best set for SH3. What's estimated release time? PS. Could you upload more screenshots of good weather? Am I wrong or is water darker than in MEPv3? |
Thanks for the preview pics -very nice:up:. I'm a happy user of your Widescreen MaGui mod & am looking forward to trying out your new M.E.P. version.
I was following the original ' VampireNightVision Bugfix' thread & noted h.sie's comments that he thought the fix 'looks very good in environments that use very dark nights', because of ships moving through the fog curtain & seeming to appear out of the dark, as they come into visible range. I was wondering if the nights in your new M.E.P version will be any darker than M.E.P. v3. I appreciate the difficulty in striking the right balance between realism/immersion and playability in these matters. |
These are the closest environment I've seen yet to match what I see around the Atlantic Waters of the coast of Ireland :yeah:
Looking Great :salute: http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/247/17268327.png http://www.galwayfishing.ie/images/galwayfishing.jpg Not me, but just of my home coast of Galway :D |
Thank you makman! :yeah:
I am already using your M.E.P v3 along with GWX and hsie's V16A3 and Stiebler's addon for new grid orders. I am in port now. I'll wait for your M.E.P v4 before I go on the next patrol. |
this looks great, really really great, but...
how often, actually, do you see reflections of boats in the water when viewed from a distance, in conditions other than a glassy calm? the two images where there are no reflections seem to me more convincing than the images where there are reflections what do you think? how would this image look, for example, without reflections? http://img864.imageshack.us/img864/4373/53607055.png |
very cool, cant wait:salute:

Amazing again Manos :yeah:
If I could make a suggestion, then a bit more "blue" in the water would be fine; now it looks a bit too much like "oil" to me, but that may be just my impression :hmmm: |
Really amazing..
Hey Manos,
mep3 was fantastic and great...but this beats everything...great work keep up your good work my friend. Best Regards DrJones:salute: |
I can't wait for this mod. I'm using MEP 3 now, and recently whilst patrolling off the western end of the Channel in heavy rain my watch crew reported a ship sighted at medium range. It turned out to be an ASW trawler, and all I could think of was that radio message received by UA in Das Boot - "Surprised by destroyer coming out of rain squall - 7 hours depth charge pursuit." In other words, amazing work.

AMAZING!
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G-!-!-!-!-!-! you have my praise!

Hi mate,
Great work as usual the stormy weather is particularly impressive and the sunset:Kaleun_Cheers: Best regards Hans |
Interesting work! I hope it will not be oversaturated, like the old MEP environment - I've tried it, but went back to OLC environment. Please don't make candy graphics, make it harsh! :arrgh!:

thanks for the new stuff!
