The Glorious Luftwaffe.
June 1942 11th Flotilla Bergen.
Sent contact report. Allied task force off Bergen consisting of four destroyers and one Southampton class cruiser. Ju88's kept coming until they sank the Cruiser at a very high cost. A lot of concentrated AA fire. What about the Fw 200 Condor do they ever turn up and attack a Convoy? |
That must have been something to see.
Most I've ever seen are a few Stukas sink lone merchants in the Med. I believe the Condor is in the game, so I would think it would be possible. Never seen one though. |

This Condor can be lucky it did not get hit by the V1 flying past it. Uploaded with ImageShack.us |
The only planes I see are Swordfishes and Hurricanes. :damn::damn::damn:
You must have been very lucky to actually see the Luftwaffe punch in their time cards and actually work. |
No luck involved at all. I made the map with the mission editor trying to find those elusive Easter Eggs in GWX. It seems I spend more time looking for eggs than actually playing the game!

Yes I read on one of the old posts that if you make a contact report near
enough to Luftwaffe patrol zones they would show up. Usually you get all resources committed elsewhere. I was being hunted at the time and it gave me the chance to slip away. It was amazing to use the external camera and see them making the attack run and hearing the High pitch whine from the engines as they were shot down. A great new SH3 experience. Felt like I was watching some Battle of the Atlantic documentary. They were only interested in the Cruiser. I did spot one FW 200 near St Nazaire. |
I've seen Stukas. And they did damn near nothing.

On the Eastern Front and defending the airspace over German industry. The Luftwaffe got stretched beyond it's effective limits. Which historically explains why you rarely see them at sea after 1942. |
Kondors.
I've had 2 Kondors show up and attack a convoy I reported south of Bear Is. in late '45. Very majestic looking planes.

I have seen the Luftwaffe precisely twice. Both times I wanted to shake my fist at them.
The first time was after a glorious war patrol in the Irish Sea. I could do nothing wrong. Every torpedo struck something. I racked just under 40,000 tons of shipping. So I want to use up my last torpedoes, I prowl off the British coast (this being mid-1940 and me not so worried about hurricanes) and spot a freighter. I plug her with two torpedoes and she's left without a prop. So I maneuver do to the perfect last shot, and I fire it...and a pair of Stukas show up, bomb the ship, and steal my bloody kill. The other time was a Type IX patrol starting in mid-'42. Sunderlands show up not even two hours out of Lorient. Crash dive saves the boat, with damage, and the Luftwaffe Ju88s knock down one, then *go home*. So seven Sunderlands kept after me for a while. At any rate, I begin to fear the Sunderlands. Hurricanes? Meh. B-24s? They're ok. The Sunderlands appear out of nowhere, in numbers, and seem to have scary accuracy :P |
I've seen the Luftwaffe attack a convoy on occasions. Here are some shots of JU88's attacking a convoy east of England mid 1940. Never seen a Condor attack a convoy though.

I usually see ju88's more than anything, other than the me fighters around certain friendly ports
