radio reports... any answers welcome!
 

Evening all! I recently re installed SH3 with GWX... O how I have missed it! One question which I have never asked (or tried to any great detail imo) is the report contact feature. Has anyone ever experienced anything interesting happen (ie ai subs or aircraft coming to your assistance) or is it worthless. Need a response to see whether it is worth still clicking it as it takes up vital milliseconds that could be used for hunting :arrgh!::arrgh!::arrgh!:

IF ... a airbase is within reach of your reported contacts in some cases you'll see the mighty Luftwaffe make a showin'

I was scoping out a harbor (can't remember the name, north of Hartlepool on the eastern coast of England) just after a German DD raid. They sank a couple ships, left a few more. I sent a contact report, and they turned around and pressed the attack again.

Yup, I have seen contact reports call in the Luftwaffe on occasion.

Wow! Just as i had given up the hope for sending these reports... From now on i will be the pen-pal of the Bdu sending in everything i see!

Where is the airports located? Does it just have to be near germany or does occupied france or the "Med" also count? I would be happy as a child on christmas if i could call in the Regia Aeronautica to show up with a couple of SM.79 Sparviero's to ruin the day for some british ships. I love those planes.

we all know that would never happen. Stupid Luftwaffe, they only show up on their terms, which usually means sinking that Large Troop Transport in a harbor your raiding. Oh was I mad. lol
