pure luck i guess ... and also not giving up, there where 7 DD's and a battleship , also the one i damaged that was stoped in the water , first i stoped under the damaged battleship at 100 meters , under the battleship they couldnt drop depth charges on me ... i waited and waited and waited and they where still pinging me from all sides, air quality inside the boat was getting bad... so i decided to move slow leaving a bunch of decoys behind ... didnt work they followed me , the other batleship was circling around and it saved me a couple of times because the dd's had to get out of his way ... so i went on moving in a zig zag pattern going to higher speed when depth chages where dropped near my position , eventually i reached an area with depths around 180 meters , this allowed me more time to manouver and escape the depth charges without using too much of the batteries and making too much noise , i thing that because of the distance 2 of the dd's turned back one stopped near the damaged battleship and the other circled around it ... a few hours later while manouvering i listened to big explosions and noises , i went for a look and saw the battleship ramming 2 of the remaining dd's that ended up sinking , using this in my advantaged i dropped more decoys and give more speed to the boat to gain some distance , i went to 188 meters again and slowed down ... i though i had make it and then the ping started again ... they dropped a few depth charges but the depth allowed me to escape without using more speed , the battleship that rammed the 2 dd's was on fire and turned back ... the dd's followed him and i managed to escape ... this took many hours most of them in real time , i was lucky i guess CO2 was at 23% or 33 % cant remember and , batteries where down to 13%
2 things i noticed ... dd's depth charges dont damage other dd's and it would be nice for the depth charges to leave a longer lasting effect in the water surface ... is there a mod for this ?
