Get to base without going in game
 

Ok so I have a question. I have for so many times been plagued by having a good patrol or what not, and then saving and quitting. Coming back and every save is a CTD. Is there a way to take the last save and make it seem like I went back to base?

Don't think so. Especially since the save is corrupt, might not even load.

You should be Saving frequently in game anyways. I try to save every few days or so, so I'll end up with 20-25 saves per patrol.

Oh I save that many times. yet all of them are herp derp. Im so angry right now. I did so well. sank 120000

...what are the circumstances in game as you save.
are you saving on your way home or near port?
out at sea?
when patrol is finished - in port?
are you teleporting back?

Do as I do : Pause the game and leave the PC running.
Nothing can go wrong except a power failure.

Yep, me too. I still make lots of saves just in case, but my main defense against save defects is to stay in game for the whole patrol.

The computer stays on as long as the patrol is not over. :yep:

It could be 4, 5 days in a row in my case.

I have a well ventilated 50 deg.F room for this. :DL
