Semi/noob needs help

Hey guys-Long time lurker, first time poster

Ive been playing silent hunter 4 now for about a month
Hadnt a clue to begin, came here, found info, now im hooked but i seem to be at a standstill......
Im still on the first level, just got new order to go to the china sea and destroy all enemy merchant.Only thing my strategy is just go around until i spot a mercahnt it,chase it,destroy it.
I dont understand even after watching the convey intercept vids what to do when i get a sound bearing or how to intercept besides guess work
Thats my main problem-How to find an intercept position after getting a sound/visual contact....
I cant work sonar for some reason also?
I also see from yhe vids you guys have some sort of different nav tools that dont come standard with the game-Where can i get these? And can please someone tell me which ones are the best so i can watch the vids and play at the same time

Sorry for the noob questions
Thanks

Hi Danny, I can understand the confusion, what you need to do is post a thread here:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/forumdisplay.php?f=219
Mainly for the pacific (Fleet Boats), if you are interested in the Atlantic (U-Boats) then here:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/forumdisplay.php?f=234
Both links are for SHIV, hope this helps, btw, welcome aboard.:yep:
