Help Walk/Run inverted. Caps lock messed up?
Help, I'm outta' breath and my crew is getting sick of me running everywhere.LOL:O:
Somehow my Run/Walk is getting inverted and I can't get the Character cam into walk mode unless I hit Caps Lock. I don't wanna' have Caps Lock in for obvious reasons, (...only knows what monsters will spawn if I keep Caps Lock in) This is twice now. It might be related to some gramaphone command but I'm not sure. Anyone have an idea? I tried to reload the game and it appears to be stuck 'cause I'm still running all over the place. (My crew is getting upset and morale is dropping quickly:O: {there's talk of diving with me on the bridge.}) Help Thanks D40 |

I know what you mean. I've taken to wearing an ankle bracelet with a cable running down to the attack periscope. Good luck diving with me still on the bridge and that cable making it impossible to close the hatch. Of course, it does mean that I spend a lot of time around the attack periscope since some Arschvogel stole the key. Same guy who stole the strawberries, I'm sure. I'll get him. Oh yes sir, I'll get him, and then it is "gute Nacht, meine Herren!" :03: Anyway, I've had the same problem in other games. Usually it was because I started the game with Caps Lock on (a lot of games takes the status of your Caps Lock at boot as "off" no matter what it actually is), but since you've already tried rebooting the game (if I understand you correctly), that may not be it. However, I do remember it happening to me once in SH5 just like you describe it, and the way I fixed it was to teleport to another station. After that, it went away. |

I think I may try and get it to happen again. Then I'll try the debugging thing that TDW told me to try.... Thanks Mate, I think we're on to something... D40 :salute: PS: I know who stole the strawberrys, it's the same guy who threw my palm tree off the bridge...uh oh...wrong Movie...:O: |
We'll get there, Dogfish! :DL
Let me know if it works out. Mind you, there are times when I wish that he'd run all the time as opposed to just walking about in a carefree fashion so I didn't have to hold down the SHIFT keys, but it can be a right royal pain if you can't switch it OFF either. There's another thing I've noticed about the footsteps of our virtual alter ego: When you're walking close to obstacles, such as along the bulkheads, his footsteps sound like he's running, but he really isn't, which can be proven by holding down the SHIFT key and seeing how he speeds up. I guess he just occasionally takes really small steps, or maybe he just likes to tap dance. :03: |

I'm still working on this Run/Walk thing, I'll keep posting when I find the culprit. D40 :salute: |
