When manually editing game files always make sure you keep a backup of your game-folder! The suggestion to use JSGME is because it can install mods and make them undone with a single click, while automatically making backups and give file-conflict warnings. But it requires the files and folders of the mod to be set-up in the right way, as they would be found in the actual game-folder. Also the file-conflict warning gives you a head up that another mod might actually be breaking the stuff an earlier installed mod has change. Like for example your navigator functions not working, could be the result of mods installed after the TDW snorkel mod. (if you did!?!) |
when you uninstall the game any added or changed file WILL BE left behind so after uninstalling it and before you reinstall the game open up your computer directory files when the game is installed and delete all remaining files found there then go to your documents folder and delete the sh5 folder found there so any corrupted save files are also removed
if you dont manually remove leftover files they will corrupt the new install |
