Hey guys its me again!

I have reinstalled Silent Hunter 4 because I like it more than 5, but I'm having trouble finding some of the old mods I liked when I first was playing.

I know there was one that made the ships sink more realistically. Also one that made the battle damage on the ships look better.

On top of that I will take any suggestions on mods that improve graphics and the like.

I downloaded PE5 I think it is, and a reskin of one of the subs.

what version of the game are you using? most mods have been updated or replaced by v1.5 mods

I currently have v1.3 but could update to 1.5.

Just need to know which mods I need.

Also, wasnt there a mod that made aircraft less annoying?

ok you are way way outdated, the last free update is v1.4 and can be found here:

you can still find some mods for this version of the game but not very many


the v1.5 update costs $10 and is the best money you will spend. almost all mods you find now will only work with v1.5 of the game

Will reskins work for this version or are they version specific too?

Does the imperial bearing finding work on 1.5?

Also, I need a guide for crew management, including what skills the crew needs for which job etc etc.

Annnnndddd a really good TDC tutorial video would be awesome, cause to be honest, I could never quite get the hang of the TDC before.

Just to jump in on this thread real quickly.

I also have v1.3 and want to get 1.5. I tried the link and it just goes to the ubisoft shop. Are you saying I have to buy the add on to the game (Wolves of the Pacific U-Boat Mission) to get v1.5.

Meaning there is no staight v1.5 patch?? Am I reading that right?

the first question i cant answer, only you can. its like asking me whats the best car to buy

it is safe to assume that any sh4 mod that doesnt specify another game version then it is made for version 1.5 of the game. some but not all of the most popular mods are listed here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=155786

as for reskins, most things that change the looks of things (contain only image files) will work for any version of the game so reskins "should" work fine but take a look at how the new game version looks first and you may like the look and decide you do not need them.

any older game version mods with game control files (cfg, dat, zon, sim, act) will not work or if they do it will CTD at some point during play. a lot changed from 1.3 to 1.4 and almost all 1.3 mods stopped working with 1.4 so anything you have dont expect it to work except maybe the reskins if there are no control files used with it
