Any interest in Warhorse or Redtails

Kinda surprised no threads on the new war movies:

Red Tails

interview w/ Lucas:

(please God, let there be no Jar-Jars in the movie)

Any thoughts?

I saw Warhorse the other night with my wife. It, as my wife puts it, is a "really sappy movie". It also defies belief in some aspects. Its basically an equine version of Lassie Come home.

Red Tails was mentioned somewhere few months back and I shall repeat what I said then:
That's pretty agile P-51 you got there. :O:

And it's an underdog story, so it'll be über-dramatic. Might check it later on, but
that trailer didn't spark much interest.

War Horse, uh.. no.. just no.

been aware of them both for a while, thought they looked quite good tbh lol

Red Tails...looks to be Flyboys in WWII.

War Horse, on the other hand, looks good...but I don't know if I'd be able to watch it without having a few...erm...ocular liquid output issues. Been around horses too long, and know too well what happened to so many of them in war.

Perhaps every artillery mess in the UK, Canada, OZ and NZ have a copy of this on the walls:

Probably pass on the movie though...

Aye...the poor bastards gave so much for us, not just in the First and Second World Wars, but in nearly every war back to the Roman era and beyond.

And if cooked right they're pretty tasty too. :D

Saw Warhorse during Christmas break with my family, it was 10 different kinds of sappy but I still liked it. Down here near Tuskegee they're having early showings this week, so I may see it with some of the guys. :hmmm:

I'll almost certainly see Red Tails opening day. If I hate it I hate it, but I have to see for myself.

The other one doesn't interest me at all.

I liked Warhorse because it's a good WWI movie it is also the first one made in a long time but what I hope is we are going to get another war film boom like the 60s and 70s because there are three out or coming out 1.USS Seaviper 2.Warhorse 3.Red Tails.

My friend in the Air Force got to see Red Tails a while back and said it was awesome, so I'm planning on seeing it the first chance I get.

Syxx_Killer 01-13-12 09:32 PM

After seeing the trailers for both I am not impressed, especially Red Tails. It looks more like a dumb video game than a movie.

VipertheSniper 01-13-12 09:41 PM

I'd rather get a copy of HBO's Tuskegee Airmen

Recent movies that deal with flight:
-Red baron: great combat scenes....but again, "really agile planes" and just about zero historical accuracy

-Flyboys: same, Little historical accuracy etc.

Red tails?

I'm guessing more of the same
