For sharp strand of ship

For a long time I have been playing SH IV. However, during a strand of a ship the electronic helmsman always bends the rudder on board at the maximum angle. It causes a significant fall of his speed.
Helmsmen usually bend the rudder no more than 15 degrees. The maximum inclination is used in special situations, for example when a threat to the ship appears.
Is there a way of changing it?

WELCOME ABOARD! :sunny:

It's true, normally 15 degrees was the rudder angle for course changes. The command was "Right Standard Rudder" and then the course designation ("Two-five-zero degrees").

No, there is no mod to do this. I also wish there was, because if you click 15 degrees and then click a new course it automatically goes to 40 degrees.

Welcome aboard!

And yes, the physics of the boats/ships is something of a weak point in SH 4.
