Aspect Ratios of ALL ships?

Howdy.
Does anyone know where i can find the aspect ratios of all or most of the enemy ships in SH4? I already have the list of Cargo ship Aspect Ratios but am coming up against more and more enemy warships. Hitman told me that someone had produced an updated recognition manual (In PDF format) with all aspect ratios but i cant find it anywhere.

Cheers

Aspect ratios. Bogus. Nobody knew aspect ratios in WWII. Nobody used them. Nobody timed lengths of targets by the wire. It would have been useless anyway. Why not just play Pokemon?:D

I don't know anything about aspect ratios, but if you want a tutorial that shows you how they really did it, try this one.

The only thing I ever knew about aspect ratios is that they help in viewing multi format DVD movies (Widescreen & Standard).:D

Ahoy slayer! Aspect ratios were in some thread explaining different AOB methods of determination. Why would you want the aspect ratio? I use the wheel. It is a collision course based AOB calculator.

I'm not currently playing SH4, playing the DCS aircrafts. I took an extended leave from SH4/UBM/5 from comsubpac, sublint, and km. Aspect ratio will not help you as fast as the wheel. because the target aspect is changing by the seconds, so by the time you are done, he'll have an entirely new aspect. I'll see if I can find that thread for you, but use at your discretion.

Stay safe down there.

Not to criticise your wanting to use the technique; there's nothing wrong with trying a new method. But, many mods have either added or altered ships, and this makes keeping, an up to date, listing of aspect ratios difficult. There is also some uncertainty as to how faithfully the images of the ships are rendered in the game.

You might be better off using a combination of plotting (and trig), and 'seaman's eye' to determine AoB or ship's course. This was how actual USN captains did it.

Thanks everybody for all of your replies. I havent managed to find the aspect ratios of all the ships but i think it may be time for a change in calculation methods anyways.

cheers guys
