M30X issues
Ok, so the issue is if I encounter an MFM vessel it's listed by it's code, not it's type when I ident them... hence a British M30 shows up as M30B, a neutral as M30X.... kinda takes the fun out of it a bit... I remember there being a file or two you had to alter, but for the life of me the details escape me. search likewise turns up zilch... help?
In other news: Just got out of a 2 hour depth charge attack in waters only 50 m deep... that was unpleasant, even if the destroyer apparently ran out of depth charges (earlier attack elsewhere? even possible?) because he pinged and continued searching my local for another hour without any charges before he buggered off at nightfall... |
Yes they can run out.
Dunno bout the rest. |
Go to \data\sea\EnglishNames.cfg (or GermanNames.cfg, if you use german as your game language). Add lines for the ship, like this:
M30A=Medium Merchant 30 M30B=Medium Merchant 30 M30X=Medium Merchant 30 (or whatever name you want to use for them) |
Code:
;Iambecomes MF mod |
If I ever get a computer that will run MFM I plan to do an update based on my Ship Names mod that will make them show up as a class name. In fact I might try it anyway. I can do it, I just can't test it.
It would work better in SH4, though. |
Looks like M30A, M30B and M30X are missing from the file (as are all the neutral MnnX versions). Having extra lines in that file won't hurt, so you can just do:
M01A=Medium Merchant 01 M01B=Medium Merchant 01 M01X=Medium Merchant 01 M02A=Medium Merchant 02 M02B=Medium Merchant 02 M02X=Medium Merchant 02 M03A=Medium Merchant 03 M03B=Medium Merchant 03 M03X=Medium Merchant 03 ... and so on, for all possible numbers (M01...M40), even if there actually aren't ships for every number. You can also do the same for all possible tankers (T01...T19). |
