OberFahnrichs in GWX3.0Gold
 

Every new career, all of my officers are Oberfahnrichs instead of commissioned officers (as in vanilla SH3).

I'm getting tired of having to do a quick 1st patrol harbor tour, then exiting to edit my career file to give me enough renown to afford to go buy 3 officers before making my 2nd patrol. (I keep my Navigator as an Oberfahnrich and pretend he's one of my Warrent Officers.)

What files do I have to edit (and how) in order to reset these to be Leutnants or Oberleutnants?

I've never seen that problem. You might try SH3 Commander and select 'Realistic Crew'. Also, with SH3C you can change crew ranks and pretty much everything else without ever spending a single renown point.

If I choose 'realistic' crew' in Commander I find you get one Oblt., two Lt.s and a ObFah.

If I choose 'Already in SHIII' crew I get four Lt.s.
