IMO, he stops the forward movement of the puck slightly, negating the attempt. But I may have that rule wrong.

Blame Todd Bertuzzi. He did a really weird maneuver in 2010 that set the precedent.

Have big respect for Datsyuk and his game, but he is a dreaded Wing. Him and Hossa are almost twins: big, great balance and great hands. If the NHL marketed him more than Cindy Crosby I think they would pull in casual viewers.

Is that with a "hooked" stick? If so we play it here too and it's called field hockey, though for the most part it is a woman's intercollegiate sport. We play a lot of street and floor hockey....
