Need help with one thing
 

My father drives a jeep cherokee sport, 2000 model, diesel, manual gear, etc. With "normal" seats. This week he bought leader seats to substitute the originals of the car, from a same model jeep, but this seats are electrical.
Is there any web site or someone here can tell me, if the car has the plugs for electrical seats, were one can look for that plugs, or if there is a site to see if certain models may take those seats or not.
Insted of doing a new electrical instalation and plugs.

not specialised on the Jeep, the easiest solution will most probably be a new wiring harness (if there are differences between the equipment of different models - if all models have the same and the less-equipped cars have the same cable harness just with those plugs dead on the floor, you can certainly use them) and at least another fuse or better fuse box taking care of the electric motors.

If the seats are heated as well, make sure the heating elements haven't been recalled. My 2006 Grand Cherokee has had two recalls on them so far.

I really ought to take it in to have em replaced. They do run a tad hot. :O:

Power or power/heated seats can be added to most models that came with standard seats. The entire seat assemblies will have to be exchanged. All seats use the same bolt pattern so the installation fit should always be exact. For power seat wiring, all that is required is a constant +12V wire and a Ground wire. Vehicles that came without power seats are not pre-wired. For the Ground wire it is probably best to run it over to the center console area where it can be attached to a metal bracket. Do not drill a hole in the floor below the seat. For the power lead, run a wire with an in-line fuse up to the fuse panel area where you can find a + wire to tap into.

Thanks. After all, my father jeep model could take electrical seats, it had the plugs below the seats. He had already put them today in the morning!

I would post your question on one of those sites. It is a high probability that some cherokee gearhead has worked this problem.
