loading times windows7 ( just a quicky!)

...super fast:DL

no Gamebooster
no AlacrityPC
no Disc

from clicking to sailing less than two minutes:D

Ah, yep, those were the days! Stick a lot more games on, some music and videos and even with the best house-keeping in the world (unless you image and reload every time you start!) come back in six months and tell us how long it takes. It'll still be better than an alternative OS, but it will get dragged down with time.

Glad you're enjoying it :yeah:

A year or so ago XP Pro OS, 2Ghz 32-bit single core, 2GB RAM, fully modded GWX3.0.......9 mins

Now, W7 OS, 3Ghz 64-bit quad core, 8GB RAM, not quite fully modded GWX3.0......1 1/2 mins

Weekly maintenace via crapcleaner, regvac, malwarebytes etc.

Are you saying just W7 speeds up loading? Then I must be doing something wrong.

frau kaleun 12-09-11 09:25 AM

I suspect that faster processors and more RAM might also be a factor. :D

Herr-Berbunch 12-09-11 09:30 AM

If your processor and RAM are better on Win 7 machine than they were on XP then yes, I believe even with identical components the Win 7 would run more quickly as the OS seems more optimized than anything before it.

Win 7 = good OS :yep:

Just waiting for them to roll out a half arsed Win 8 like ME/Vista. :-?

I see you don't mention anything about your system, the game or what mods you're running. My ancient creaky single-core system will load stock SH3 fairly quickly. Instead of just bragging, why don't you show us what you have.

HE MEANS YOUR PC! :o

frau kaleun 12-09-11 11:17 AM

I really don't think he's bragging, I think he's just incredibly happy that the game is loading so quickly (especially after having had some difficulty getting it all installed and set up IIRC). :DL

Maybe so. I do sometimes take these things the wrong way.

Or maybe the text was hard to read through my green envy glasses.

"Identical components" cannot be better on one machine and worse on another. But I understand what you are trying to say.

This is about what I am getting with these specs, GWX 3.0 expansion and 7200RPM SATAII.

I timed loading Bucket Brigade at 1:37 seconds

In all honesty though, there isn't a lot of anything else other than a call of duty game on my system because I tend to archive onto external hard drives.
