A question asked 1000 times.
I know this question has been asked probably 1000 times before. Is the gameplay with current mods nearing the gameplay of sh3, or has it or will surpass sh3 in the near future? Is the campaign truly dynamic or very linear? Are the programming bugs pretty much hammered out by now? I now have the hardware to play it decently and am getting interested in purchasing this. Any non-bias opinions from someone experienced in both SH3 and SH5 would be appreciated. Also, I love realism in my gameplay, running around on the surface taking on destroyers with my deck gun is not my thing. Can this game offer me the realism I seek in my gameplay?

Never mind I see someone posted a similar thread below mine. Moderator delete this please.

Ahoy Stoli151,
I'm going to answer this one anyway as I had the same reservations and continued with SH4 and 3 until I found out about the relaxing of the DRM. After loading up a few of the larger Env Mods and Interior ect, I found this game to be no less than a truly great standout on it's own. It's not a sequel by any means, it's much different than SH3 or 4 in that it's more role playing as a Kaleun. It has all of the strategy that the other two have but it's also more human as you will interact with the upper crew members to keep the boat in shape. There are of course mods for everything (just about). I will never stop playing 3 or 4 because they've become great over the years with the modding efforts but to let this game slip by would be missing out on a truly great visual and immersive experience. Hope you get and have fun!! D40 :salute: |
