Out of Africa and Into Iowa!

Quote:

NEWT GINGRICH’S mind is in love with itself. It has persuaded itself that it is brilliant when it is merely promiscuous. This is not a serious mind. Gingrich is not, to put it mildly, a systematic thinker. His mind is a jumble, an amateurish mess lacking impulse control. He plays air guitar with ideas, producing air ideas. He ejaculates concepts, notions and theories that are as inconsistent as his behavior. He didn’t get whiplash being a serial adulterer while impeaching another serial adulterer, a lobbyist for Freddie Mac while attacking Freddie Mac, a self-professed fiscal conservative with a whopping Tiffany’s credit line, and an anti-Communist Army brat who supported the Vietnam War but dodged it.
Quote:

“Part of the question I had to ask myself,” he said in a 1985 Wall Street Journal piece about war wimps, “was what difference I would have made.”
Quote:

Newt swims easily in a sea of duality and byzantine ideas that don’t add up. As The Washington Post reported on Friday, an America under President Gingrich would have two Social Security systems — “one old, one new, running side by side” — two tax systems and two versions of Medicare. Consider his confusion of views on colonialism. In the 1971 Ph.D. dissertation he wrote at Tulane University, titled “Belgian Education Policy in the Congo 1945-1960,” he is anti-anticolonialism.

Are you a news man or just a partisan shill Vendor?

Quoting Maureen Dowd is about as one sided as you get. You might as well quote Michael Moore. :nope:

Well, it's not prohibited to post op-pieces here and the fact that Gingrich is a backwards-leaning, hypocrite fratboy is probably news to some people :O:
However I am biased as hell, as I like Maureen Dowd for her looks and her sharp tongue. :yep:

She's dangerously close to my age limit, but I would :smug: (if I were single)
And I really like her style of writing, I like the fact that she doesn't solely attack the Republicans but also others.

Dowd writes too many man-hating articles for my taste. I take her as an undercover lesbian feminist, not that it is bad, but when you can use something as powerful (paper of record) as the NY times as a pulpit it can only invoke division and not unity, as she pretends to want.

I am kinda with August here. Outside of Frank Rich, the times editorials are left leaning. Though sometimes they are true, they still have a bias.

The rest of the NY times is the best journalism you can find, just avoid the editorials!:DL

Take it from someone who gets it delivered to his house.

As for Newt, he is the most viable of the candidates, but is getting eaten by his own. Even his own Fox news cronies are smacking him, they want Mitt.

I loved Newts views on foreign aid. Fox hated it, it went against the status quo. Our military contractors got butthurt.

Well...I know her taste and I say, there are those who are better and worse, but I like the magazine in its entirety....but of course it can produce less good material, absolute, :yep:

Times is very good Vendor. In print it has some of the most hard hitting and raw pictures on the front page, and it avoids the "tabloid type, yellow journalism" that the NYpost, and NY daily news gives you.

No 10 page spread of "random actresses" dresses at some irrelavant awards show in the Times.

Just beware of the editorials.

Yeah Krugman can make sense sometimes, Dowd can make you chuckle. But they serve an interest, the interest that signs thier checks. Just as Fox news editorial shows serve theirs on the other end of the spectrum.

Clear mind and objectivity would save this (my) country from being an joke and a bully.

But most will go for internal strife, and eating our own.

That's funny because from what I remember most of the avowedly feminist bloggers I used to read regularly didn't seem to like her that much either. :haha:

Please don't take my post the wrong way Frau Kapitan.

It is just hard to catch the male attention in journalism when 2 articles out of 4 a month seem to trash them for something most of us testicle bearing gentleman can't help.

I don't want to seem like a misogynist. I love girls. They smell nice, and make me happy.:D
