EU stupidity strikes again and makes me go AAAAAAHHHHHH

EU bans claim that water can prevent dehydration. Brussels bureaucrats were ridiculed yesterday after banning drink manufacturers from claiming that water can prevent dehydration.

[Holding burning EU flags in hands]: "Death to the great fool! Death to the great fool! Death to the great fool!" :arrgh!:

Wait, what?

What's this I don't even

So apparently water isn't really wet after all?

This will no doubt have major ramifications with regard to the Pope's presumed religious affiliations, not to mention the defecatory habits of bears.

Oh dear, the bottled water merchants got their advert knocked back:yeah:
Such a pity eh, poor little buggers should be specific if they want to make a claim
So if I drink a gallon of water every 4th tuesday I will not get dehydration...after all that is what they wanted to say on the bottles and if it says it then it must be true.:rotfl2:

Still it must be a slow day for news for the telegrapth to cycle out a 9month old story, its funny that the story mentions the british governments advice on water consumption as a benchmark for the benefits yet also links to a telegraph article rubbishing that very same british governments benchmark:yeah:Even better, that story then links to another earlier story about the significant dangers to health from regular consumption of significant amounts of water as well as debunking another of the water industries previous advertising claims.

Ukip MEP Paul Nuttall said the ruling made the “bendy banana law” look “positively sane”.
The water ruling and the banana ruing are both perfectly sane...UKIP on the other hand are as nutty as a sack of almonds.

The EU, wow, what a bunch of retards, yet again showing how stupid they are.

the EU are a buch of idiots, but on this issue they are correct, just like they was on the last "EU regulations gone mad" topic sky posted.

OK, guys, take away his water and see how long he lasts!

It is in times like these that I`m so glad Norway never joined the EU. Isn`t water the most healthy drink you can drink? It`s not like it`s dangerouse to drink lots of water. I once drank 6-7 liters in one morning.

Sailor Steve 11-22-11 11:41 AM

@ Joea: The earliest reference I can remember was from a Peanuts comic strip in the 1950s or '60s. Lucy called it "Instant Water" and had the same description: Just add water and stir." :sunny:

Well technically such thing as "water poisoning" does exist.

soopaman2 11-22-11 11:48 AM

Uhhh....Hmmmm. Herp derp?

Who bribed who?

Someone with alot of money and influence felt threatened by water. Kinda like coca cola and knocking down a ban in the grand canyon.

I will drink some San Pellegrino and smile knowing the EU is as far down the rathole as America is.

Maybe it's some of the beer manufactures that have paid them to reach this conclusion.

What a lovely mixture of excrement, hogwash, sensationalism, half truths and bollocks that article was. Perfect to start the day with.

Edit: I also like the fact that seemingly most people who commented on this piece did not read past the headline.
