Did I hit a mine?
Hi all,
Still quite new to the SH3/GWX world but still loving it :) I was cruising ahead slow at ~50m depth when all he'll broke loose - no depth charge warnings and my conning tower (plus 50% of boat) was all shot to hell. I wasn't being hunted at the time so I'm assuming it was a mine? I was NW of Londonderry, top-left AM53 and it was Sept 1940 - is it possible you'll find mines that deep? On a positive note, after a scary 10min flood battle I limped back to port with only my binoculars to guide me :P On second thought, I should double-check that my latest addition to the crew wasn't that Bernard bloke I keep hearing about... It was at night or day when it happened, but a mine you was still a little off, which realism do ya use?

At 50 metres you would normally be below mine depth but you are in a potential monefield area and without 'giving the game away'.....be more careful. |
I guess it was a sort of welcome with a bang. Glad you made it back :salute:

I remember the time I went to minesweep mission with my u-boat eastwards from Helgoland. I used the external cam in purpose to lead my boat on mines, making them expload. I did that ~5-6 times and I was still afloat, continued to minesweep till it got dark and I began to feel bored knowing my boat is immune to mines :)
Test was made with GWX + h.Sie realistic repair times ON. Nobody still believes me it realy happened. |
It wouldn't have had you been playing an unmodded GWX.
