Battle stations

Hi all!

New to this place so if I'm posting in the wrong place yell at me so that I truly understand the gravity of my wrong doings...

Anyways, I've been thinking about the fact the the hatches between the compartments doesn't automatically close when entering battle stations. Was this not something the crew would do to stop the whole sub from flooding if one compartment was compromised?

Is there a mod to deal with this?

Cheers and Attack! Tear! Sink!!!

Welcome to the forums!

Battlestations in game is really just a bonus modifier and not any animations or graphics or anything.

I actually run through the sub and close them during tense battles, just for immersion. Usually leave the one between the hydrostation and control room open though. I also often close the two leading to the engine room just to keep them quiet. :)

I assume you can close them via scripting, but never tried to. Maybe request that feature from The Dark Wraith? :)

Yea, I do the same. But I just feel that if there's a big battle coming up the captain should not be forced to run through the sub like he's got a torpedo up is rear tube closing all the hatches... :03:

Been trying to do that starting over a year ago. No success so far :shifty:

I believe I read somewhere, (probably Steel boat, Iron Hearts ), that the hatch's inside a U boat were NOT closed during battle stations, for purposes of better communication between compartments. Think about it... in a uboat the sound room was isolated from the control room and conning tower.

As an aside, it was on fleet boats where the inside hatchs would ahve been closed, as communication was facilitated through a telephone/intercom system.
