something is missing, isn't it?
Luckily they made it.
N-joy.

"HEY! Quit whining! I got us here, didn't I?"

Penguin 11-01-11 09:54 AM

Good that they made it!
Nothing on the news about the incident here yet. It's hard to see, was there foam on the runway?

If they get enough notice the fire and rescue crews will spread foam on the runway to retard any ignition of fuels. I imagine the runway will be closed for some time, firstly to disperse the foam, secondly to inspect for damage.

Beers all round, I think, it all looked textbook on all sides. :yeah:

And that original link has been removed, use kranz's. :yep:

Hmm some thieving git nicked the landing gear.

Glad they got down safe and well though :yep:

MH 11-01-11 10:47 AM

Great landing.

AVGWarhawk 11-01-11 10:56 AM

It was a successful landing in my book. :yeah: Nice job to the pilots! :salute:

MSNBC - Plane from New York carrying 230 crash lands in Warsaw

Not much info yet.

Oberon 11-01-11 12:41 PM

Textbook gear up landing, massive kudos to the pilot, crew and ground-crew for making it work.

CCIP 11-01-11 12:50 PM

Professional job! Any landing you walk away from is a good one, and this was definitely above-good. Shame about the plane, but the pilot looks like he did everything right.

Polak 11-01-11 01:09 PM

Here you have some more clips, and pictures of the plane when it's on the ground.

Good job of the pilots!

U570 11-01-11 04:14 PM

Extremely good job of the pilots. The landing was probably smoother than any I've ever seen. :yeah::up::woot:

JU_88 11-01-11 04:24 PM

Increadible landing! smoother than some of the landings ive had on wheels! That pilot is a real pro.
Its times like this the Civilian Airline pilot show that he is not a glorified bus driver, but a life saving hero, That said Boeing deserve their fare share of the credit for this too (Im assuming the failed gear was a maintinance issue) Since some where in the world a 767 probably lands on it wheels every 10-20 seconds or so.

Jimbuna 11-01-11 06:29 PM

Top marks to a very skillful pilot :yeah:
