Why I don't trust British food

I went to the store last night to get some halloween candy, when I passed throught the "international" food section, where they have "British" cuisine.:dead:

Then I saw this:

What in the smurf is this? Sure enough, it was manufactured in England (fortunately it was NOT Newcastle, or I'd really be worried:O:)

Now, I could see Australia eating this, as they are a penal colony, maybe Scotland.

So.....
Do you need to be 21 to buy this?

Do geordies eat this?

When you go to the store and you can't find any "spotted dick", do you ask for it? "Hey mate I'm looking for some spotted dick."

Is there a female version of this, say "speckled...."

Now, if you eat this pudding and some here says "oops, I dropped me sausage."

I'm going to run for my life.

Wait, I'm connecting the dots...

Hmm. After reading a couple of descriptions of what it really is, I'm not sure it's something I'd want to try anyway.

It's a delicious RAISIN INFUSED SPONGE PUDDING :yep:

McBee - if you automatically associate it with your latest trip to the doctors, well, you need to watch what you're doing! Don't share a stolen limo seat. :o

Don't go too hard on him, he is from Chicago.:D I'll explain it to him later.

They do have "sponge cake" here, but there are no spotted dicks associated with them.:dead:
