Aaarghhh! Save issue.
 

First, let me say that I always follow the "rules of saving" as given to me here:

I am having terrible problems in June, 1940. I patrolled between Dunkirk and Dover and sank some troop transports. I stayed well away from the Dunkirk area and the French shoreline nearby as they have caused lock-ups in game. I saved the game on Oct. 23rd and tried to load it this morning after night shift...Oct. 28th. The saved game would load up until the point of entering the control room...and then the dreaded error message. I tried again and noticed this:

Notice the dates on the last two entries? Why has my "in base before mission" date changed to today's date? It should be October 18th. This seems to indicate that my "In mission" save of October 23rd will never work as long as an entry before it has a later date. EDIT: I actually brought this up in the above thread I linked to but forgot I had done so.

What caused this?
Is there a way to change the "In base before mission" date back to something before the 23rd?

:damn: This entire Dunkirk thing has been a pain from Day 1. I had hoped that staying well away (35 km, at least) from Dunkirk and it's issues would help...no such luck, so far.

And, BTW, Jimbuna had commented on the "READ ONLY" fix, and needing more experiences with it from the community before it was "accepted". Well, I applied this "fix" well before this save...and you can see that, on my machine at least, it does nothing to help with save problems.
