Destroying Capital ships

Has any on ever caused an enemy cruiser or battleship to spilt in half or managed to blow up one or more of its main guns? In all my experiance I've never done that or even seen that happening.

No this has never occured to me.
I have sunk capital ships and in most cases they went down by the bow.
I think Jimbuna has witnessed a battleship going turtle.
I have never seen main turrets blown off or something similar.

The best I've seen was the Nelson going stern first, with the bow nearly straight up in the air. I had a carrier start to go turtle, but then it righted itself after a bunch of explosions.

Seeing a battleship or carrier go turtle would be the best, I feel. Added points if the magazines blow as she's turning (as in the HMS Barham).

I was wondering if by chance if one were to get really lucky and land a torpeado on one of a battleships turrets(say she hasn't sunk but really low in the water and or listing heavly to one side) could it destroy the turret? and cosidering that light criusers are not necesarally the most well protected ships against torpeados that if you managed to hit one in the general area of her magazines with a salvo of four eels one would asume that the ensuing fireworks display would tear her asunder(aka the HMS Hood effect).

The answer to both is yes....best if you use a magnetic under the keel shot.
