Just repurchased game, patch loading troubles
 

I just re-purchased DW and tried to run the 1.4 patch and it says that the game isn't loaded on the computer. I thought it might be because I saved it to the x86 side of windows 7, so I tried uninstalling it then reinstalling on the regulard side of win7 each with same notice. Any ideas?

Probably your installation destination. Win7 protects files in the main directory. Create a folder on 'C', call it whatever you like e.g. 'Games' and install DW there. That will probably solve your problem.

I wiped DW from the computer, installed it on c drive into a folder named cdrive games and then tried to run the patch. Same message "It appears that Dangerous Waters" is not loaded on this computer. I tried putting the patch into the same folder and running it from there...still no dice.

IMHO DW detects itself by registry. So it might be problem with registry access rights. Try regmon and filemon utility to see what the patch tries to do and what fails.
My bet is it's gonna be reading from registry of something like HKCR/software/Dangerous waters ..

mine is in X86 with no problems..might have something to do with "administrator rights"..
right click your desktop DW icon,,,properties,security..and see if administrators have all rights enabled...

don,t know if this is the cause....
when you run the patch..run as administrator also...
