War of billions: How has Afghanistan changed?
 

Afghanistan has undergone momentous change in the decade which followed the US-led operation to remove the Taliban from power in October 2001. Billions of dollars in foreign assistance have poured into the country, most of it spent on military operations. While some aspects of life have improved for some people, the death toll from a decade of violence is high.
