A Granville's Titanic Demise
 

I planted an eel in the sweet spot, just under the keel , aft of the forward crane. She eventually slowed and stopped as expected. As her bow slipped under and I yelled "She's Going Down!", the aft end began to rise out of the water.

Screw and rudder fully exposed, I expected her to slip under, but at that moment, she broke in two. The stern slammed back into the water and floated for a good two minutes before resuming the plunge.

First time I've seen that in GWX.

I thought of it just as it was slipping under. If it happens again, I'll be sure to get one.

You've just described one of my favorite effects. The first time may be the sweetest, but it never gets old. Another great moment courtesy of GWX! :up:

You should occasionally see a vessel split in two and both pieces drift slowly apart....a weird site indeed.

The best one is seeing a BB 'turn turtle'.

I'm not sure if I have pictures of the former but I still have some of the latter.

One of my favorites is when it splits in two and one have sinks almost instantly, but the other takes several minutes.

I'm gonna refrain from suggesting that's due to all the 'heavy' people rushing to one end of the boat... :O:

I like splitting a Passenger/Cargo. You get the "kill" but both halves are still afloat as you go over the horizon.

(Seriously. I know the GWX team has moved on, but if any one wants to make the P/C realistic, I'd send them a case of beer).
