Dutch woman 'called boyfriend 65,000 times'
A Dutch woman who called a man 65,000 times in the past year - an average of 178 calls a day - is due in court later to face charges of stalking.
The man told police he had been bombarded with calls, texts and emails from the woman. Lawyers say the 42-year-old woman claimed to be in relationship with the man and denied that her actions were excessive. The 62-year-old man denies that they were in a relationship. The police raided the woman's home in Rotterdam and seized a number of mobile phones and several computers. The BBC's Anna Holligan in The Hague says a judge at a preliminary hearing granted the woman bail on the condition that she leave the man alone. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-14913053 Note: 14 September 2011 Last updated at 10:40 GMT |

The next part of this saga will be, "she later died of a heart attack after receiving her phone bill".

It was not all bad. She did manage to pay for her home in a short amount of time. Payment was done with a sack full of dimes.

If each call was 20 seconds that's nearly an hour every day, 365 hours per year. :o
More productive in that time would've been to watch Das Boot! ;) |

We all know how much men like chatting on the phone...
...so, what a torture  |
I'm not a man and I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of people with whom I enjoy "chatting" on the phone. And that's only because they are people I don't see regularly or talk to more than once or twice a month, so we actually have something to chat about when we call each other.
Beyond that, when it comes to phone calls that do not involve the transfer of mutually useful information, I have very little patience. |
My average phone call is "Where you wanna meet for lunch?" My average call time per month is less than 100 minutes, and I had one month with a total of 4.5 minutes.
So I agree. If someone called me that much, "Get lost" would be first on the list, followed by "You might want to walk the other way see me in person." |
My ex wife phone calls consisted of "what time you coming home" or "where are you and what are you up to" :wah:
Now my current girlfriend use the phone very rarely :shucks: |
I've just checked my last six months of phone bills, it reads -
Mar - 26 mins Apr - 16 mins May - 20 mins Jun - 17 mins Jul - 7 mins Aug - 17 mins That's 1¾ hours in six months! More than I thought. But the longest was 4 mins something to a plumbing merchant. Most were 15 - 25 seconds usually to the wife "I'll pick the girl up", "Can you get a loaf of bread while you're out?"... :D |
Well, I have to admit that I recently ran into an old friend I haven't seen in thirty years. We got together a couple weeks ago and spent the day reminiscing about old times and talking about new, and yesterday we talked on the phone for just over an hour. That is pretty amazing, considering how much I hate telephones anyway.
