Attack periscope bug?
Hi, I'm having some trouble with my attack periscope in sh3 (with GWX 3 and SH3 commander). For some reason I can't get full zoom with the attack periscope!:damn: The observation periscope works fine (1x-7x zoom), but in the attack periscope I can't get more zoom than 1.5x! This is very annoying when attacking convoys because if I use the OBS scope when attacking the convoy 1. I Can't get as much zoom as in the ATK scope and 2. I will be easier to detect. Do anyone of you know about this bug? If so please help me. :arrgh!:

You say you're using SH3 Commander. Do you have Sabotage & Malfunctions enabled? It could be that your attack scope is on the fritz, and will be repaired after the patrol is over. I also think that saving and restarting the game will do it, but I've never had the problem, so I can't be sure.

Salute !!!!
Sailor Steve is correct. I have had that very malfunction too. Another malfunction I have had several times is with the propulsion system. I could only get half speed from both engines and motors. My self-imposed solution is to continue the patrol for at least an hour to simulate repairs and then save/exit and restart. So each time I start up the sim I check my periscopes and propulsion systems. Don't want to get caught blind or crippled!!! AD ps.. what other malfunctions have Commander users experienced? |
Waterlogged attack scope. Takes forever to get a clear view.

Yeah, I do have sabotage + malfunctions enabled, but the first time it happened I was actually on a Naval Academy mission! So I don't think it should have been any malfunction. But, if malfunctions can happen in Naval Academy missions, I don't understand why there is 50% chance that theres a fault with the attack periscope and not something else! :06: EDIT: I have tried restarting the game, but I still got 50% chance of a ATK periscope failiure!
