Getting to the Next Campaign (with 2 failed missions)
A quick question--I was wondering how to advance to the second campaign, if my "iron cross bar" is not full. I failed the Norway mission (couldn't find a battleship in time, searched all 3 ports) and the mission that involved sinking an escort carrier (which I could not find). It's now July of 1940, there are no missions available to me, and France has fallen. I have redeployed to Lorient, but in a weird way--I ended my patrol at Bremen (or whatever the sub base near there is called) and turned up in France.
After failing the Norway mission I just started and ended patrols immediately since I had no orders--I figured that way I could skip ahead to the next campaign, but it hasn't happened yet. It hasn't been unlocked in the main menu. I know about the silentotto trick and the save modifier, but I'd like to keep my current captain, ship, and crew without using them. Does anyone know how the campaign advances if you haven't gotten enough of those iron cross things? My game is unmodded (just extra insignias and crew commands). |
Im wondering this myself.
Can you progress to other campaigns if you fail 1 mission in a campaign or all of them? Couldn't find out through google. :oops: |
Campaigns are based on time, so it does not matter wheter you finish them or not. When the time is reached - the campaign will swithc.
Some things/upgrades might be unavailable (sorry, haven't played an unmodded SH5 for forewer, so can't exactly say what and where), but overall you still will progress. I myself still haven't finished the entier game, though have it for the past 2 years. I blameTDW, Trev, sober, soianm, gap and many many other amazing modders: they make em so irresistable to install that I have to restart the campaign every time.... :yeah: |

So if you complete the first set of mission objectives and haven't reach the required date for the change, does that mean you just head out and keep on sinking Allied shipping until you reach the required date?

Ok, I'm doing that now. I just did the firsdt mission for Blockade of Germany, Orders to sink a Capitol ship in Scapa Flow. I sank two. The HMS Valiant and HMS Helson. Hood was there but I never saw it. I went crept in at 22:00hrs and was not out until 07:56. Also sank 2 Troop ships. Required objective was completed but not the Mission. With docking and requesting new orders, I'm now off to sink 5 ships along the blockade patrol linea and 1 aircraft carrier well south of there. Date leaving Whilhelmshaven is 11-22-39. Plenty of time before the campaign change to complete Total Germany.
So because you complete a required objective you do not always complete the mission. But if I remember correctly, the Blockade of Germany is a two fold mission. |

Steam version, heavily modded.
Done all campaigns via silentotto, at least done the 1st campaign 10x, but even with 8 of ten objectives, sunk 600k MT, on 20.6 (or July?),1940, it tells me I failed all but one objective, I cannot access the following campaign (I can go to the Indian Ocean and the last one). I finished the first stage of the campaign, but I was not allowed to advance after the date elapses. The message came up that I should have tried harder for the war effort, etc. and then the campaign storyboard, but I couldn't accept the next stage or do anything...
Love this game, but the bugs in the campaign.... I am ready to give up... When you buy a game you expect it to work well! Thought I had it sorted at first seeing the OH2 mod, but then read that it's been broken by some change at the Ubisoft end (progress bar thing). |
