Stadimeter in rough weather...is there a knack?
I have recently switched to manual targeting and I find the game a great deal more challenging now! But it's also a lot more rewarding when I do manage to his something... :yep:
However, I am curious if there is a knack for using the stadimeter in rough weather? When the sea is really rough, I find it very difficult to get the height and thus range accurate. Do I need more practice or is this simply the way it was? (I suspect both statements may be true...) |
It may be easier to plot the ships course, make a position, and calculate ahead of time based on its course.

Thanks! Yes, in rough weather that may be a good alternative to using the stadimeter. I don't use stabilize view, so rocking of my own boat and water washing over the periscope make using the stadimeter very difficult in those conditions. But that's probably the way it was. :yep:

I think it's fair to say you can pretty much forget the stadimeter in rough seas, or at longer ranges. Plotting his course is your best bet.
