Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin kicked off an election campaign on Monday revving up his three-wheeled Harley Davidson at the head of a bikers motorcade -- the latest in a series of macho stunts that have punctuated his political career.
Black-clad Putin, 58, called the bikers his "brothers" as he joined a festival aboard a Soviet-era warship in the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, held to mark the city's liberation during World War Two.
"I want to talk to you, brothers. It is cool that you do not forget the heroes of the past," said Putin. "Boys, girls you are great. Not only are you having fun while riding your bikes but you are also combining it with patriotic deeds."


Putin's United Russia party is hoping to secure a two-thirds majority in December's vote for the Duma lower house of parliament -- a margin that would give it the power to change the constitution.
Campaigning began in earnest after President Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on Monday setting the date for the poll as December 4.

This isn't just any trike, its a putin trike , all the metals were dug from the ground by himself personally with his bare hands those ores were smelted by the heat of his intense personality and the tyres contain rubber he squeezed from trees that were not even rubber trees.
This isn't a Harley its a Putinpersonalitycultpropogandski three wheeler and is powered by raw beetroot and bull droppings.

It does not matter if I like him or not, but as far as I can see, he knows how election campaigns work.

Perhaps Putin driving a Russian T-80 tank and driving it over opposition party HQ and over opposition figures would be more . . . . compelling and more straightforward and effective.:DL


Harley is an American icon btw I don't see anything patriotic about riding them when you're not American.

Harleys are all about image, and Putin is a man who, as danasan already pointed out, knows image and campaigning.

People better be paying attention - Putin has the Cult of Personality in a country that is still defining itself in the 21st century.
