Hedgehogs Nightmare

Hello.
I was i a middle of the mission and a destroyer is going straight to me (nose to nose, collision course) i was in swallow water(about 30meters to the bottom), i dive to 25 meters and he start to pinging me.
Taking into account the fact that i have Albreich improved i think that in frontal contact the echo returning to destroyer will be wery small (especially with this sonar coating) i was wrong, he fire Hedgehogs and full ahead flank saved me but i take serious damage and have to return to base.
Does Any of You know how to evade the hedgehogs.

if you hear it hit the water its too late. Theres truly no way to escape it, thankfully the explosive charge on those bad boys isnt that great. They usually fire them if they see you dive when their close to you otherwise they usually just standard depth charge away. With a 7kt speed at max theres no running, ive tried everything. Believe me

But i was submerged all the time, it looks like he recieve sms from God and know where i am (when my sonarman heard him i was go to Silent running)

yea but he knew your general position the hegehog fires 20 -25 rounds in a loop pattern they only blow up it if hits you, so it doesnt mess up the destroyer ASDIC like DC. You cant move that far at 1-2 knts silent running. As long as he saw you dive he had your position to fire the hedge toward.

If possible, avoid shallow water ... so you can have space, if necessary, at these kinds of situations :yep:

You'll find it doesn't make all that much difference even when in deep water because of the speed the bomblets sink at.

It's not always the case they'll hit you but if the escort has a good fix on you it usually results in a hit or two.

You are the most helpful person on this forum.... and, lord, you are depressing.

And when one hedgehog hit the rest near of them exploding too.
Its a very deadly weapon even without "realistic durability".

"There's no way this guy can get me."

"Multiple objects entering the water, Herr Kaluen!"

"...Bernard, bring me my brown trousers."

Typical encounter with mid-war escorts.
