Inboard/outboard pic heavy....
My family and I went to the Calvert Marine Museum this weekend. I took pics of the collection of marine engines on display. We have come a long way in this technology, however, these engines still run and will propel a watercraft.

Hmm... all that's missing is an FM 38.:DL

Haha, Mercury and Evinrude. Not exactly good memories off those two. :O:

Must admit to being more interested in shipboard engines and generators as a result of my marine engineering days but there are a few interesting models there Chris...I especially like the air dropped variant 'Evinrude'

A few of those are just pieces of art. Polished and beautiful.
Thx for shareing AVG. :salute: |

This one reminds me of the Jetsons! http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q...k/IMAG0420.jpg These were pieces of art. It looks like many in designed in the 40's-50's were designed like the cars of the time. |

I did forget one!!!!
The first engine to have a separate tank fuel that fed the engine via rubber hose. The 2-5 gallon tank rested on the boats floor. This stopped the nasty spills of gas when filling onboard fuel tanks or oil tanks for the two strokers. From then on this was the system used. http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q...k/IMAG0424.jpg |
