Israeli regrets over clash fail to end Egypt protests

Thousands of Egyptians have rallied outside the Israeli embassy in Cairo for a second day over the deaths of five Egyptian policemen.

One demonstrator climbed the building, took down the Israeli flag and replaced it with an Egyptian flag.

Israel earlier expressed "regrets" over the incident on Thursday.

It happened on the Israeli-Egyptian border as Israeli troops pursued suspected militants who had fired shots into Israel, killing eight.

In response, Israel has carried out a series of air strikes on targets in the Gaza Strip, killing at least 15 people.

Palestinian militants have fired more than 20 rockets into Israel since Saturday night.

The Cairo-based Arab League is to hold a meeting on Sunday to discuss the crisis.

In the latest violence, a rocket killed one person and injured at least four in the Israeli city of Beersheba on Saturday.

Israeli sources identified it as a Grad rocket, adding that two children were slightly injured when Grads hit another town, Ofakim.

Israel-Gaza violence causes concern

International concern is growing over a fresh wave of violence between Israeli forces and Palestinian militants.

Israel has carried out air strikes in the Gaza Strip, while militants have been firing rockets into Israel.

The trigger was a series of attacks in Israel on Thursday when eight civilians died. Five Egyptian policemen were killed as Israel pursued the gunmen.

The Quartet of Middle East peace mediators - the UN, US, EU and Russia - has called for restraint.

Egyptians go berserk.
Arab democracy my....:damn:
First they have to move to medieval age.

Israel must show restraint-that is walk on tip toes not to upset the bunch of nutcases even more.:-?

They killed Egyptian police inside Egypt and initially claimed they were terrorists and then claimed they had been killed by a suicide bomber and then said errrr...ooops sorry we will look into it.
Isreal must like any other nation show restraint in hastily trotting out lines as a matter of course that will probably turn out to be very wrong. A bit like britains recent episode of sillyness where "policemen returning fire after a trigger happy gun nut stated shooting them" turned out to complete bollox.

Let the election happen tomorrow and there will be no Egypt.
Are you asleep or something?
Face it already or you just will keep on finding excuses why things did not went according to your imagination.
there is NO sane major party in Egypt just a bunch of groups that vary in their extremism united under islamic or anti zionist flag.
There are democrats but just because they are so=it nullifies them.
Military GOV is the best they may have currently.:nope:

It was a coordinated terrorist attack with shooting happening all over the place....not some imaginery thing in your head.

It sill does not justify Egyptian reaction...if it was to be sensible one.

Which reaction? the protest outside the embassy, the threat to recall and/or expell diplomats, the demand for an apolgy, the request for authorising troop movements, the joint inquriry??????....which Egyptian reaction is so unjustifiable?

Would that be like the episodes directed at the Hadash participants in the Israeli protests? Or indeed your own "Arabs are......."?.

Once again you are both unwilling and unable to answer simple questions, probably because you know the answers and they ain't good for what you want to say

Once again your much vaunted "local expertise" has left you unable to see, it isn't that Ireland is in another dimension, it is that you are in the same dimension that you wish to condemn but refuse to accept the fact that you are there.
