Retribution For Crewman Incompetence, Anyone?
Is there a mod out there that allows you to punish crewmen for complete and utter incompetence? I was on patrol just now at the southern mouth of the St. George's Channel when all of a sudden my stealth meter went red...sonar reported nothing, but when I looked through the scope, a Black Swan frigate was practically down my throat! This is the third time this has happened (twice in this patrol alone, I might add), so I'm ready to take my sonar man up on deck and give him a third eye right in the middle of his forehead. :damn:
Anyone know of a mod that lets you execute crewmen? -Matt |
Is his name Bernard?

Maybe your Sonar crew was tired ;) That happened to me too, i changed the guy on the Sonar and suddenly a lot of contacts appeared. :D I would rather punish my 8.8 gun guy. :stare:

Crew system is broken anyway, I disabled fatigue, the management thing is frustrating.
Morale too, Sank 50.000 in 4 Patrols, shower them in medals, yet their morale is getting lower. My sonar-man is ineffective to say the least, he is a qualified sonar-man he can't hear a Med cargo 1000m away. |
My Sonarman at least has the competence to pick up merchants...Hossel has been known to carry a Luger for 'extra incentive'! :D However, said Sonarman also has the penchant for picking up ghost echoes, leading us to go on at least three 'Wildgans Verfolgungsjagden' (wild goose chases) every patrol.

When I attack a convoy, I tell him to listen to the closest warship, but every time it's ''No sound contact!" I dread the day that I will have to rely on his skills if under attack :shifty: |
Inconceivable!!:88)

I surfaced in a heavy storm to replenish oxygen and charge the batteries a bit. My watch crew failed to notice that we surfaced directly astern of a Nelson-class battleship. I wish I had taken a screenshot - we were so close it was amazing - watching those giant screws come out of the water as the ship slid down a heavy swell was a sight to see.
I was tempted to seal the hatch and leave them on deck, but chalked it up to extremely poor visibility due to the weather. I'm pretty sure they all needed to change their trousers after that incident. ;) |

Talk about a shock! Of course, I'd be understanding if my crew didn't sight it at first; in our case they might not have believed what they were seeing! We've been praying for a battlewagon or even a light cruiser to cross our path; even deliberately crossed paths with a task force or two during the Norwegian campaign, but both 'task forces' turned out to be destroyer flotillas. Needless to say, we made like shepherds and got the flock out of there. :D -Matt |
