Found small mistake in stock game files.
C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Terrain\Textures_and_Vegetation\6.TropicalF orests.ini
TexMasks=6.Tropical Forests/masks_tropical.dss
should be
TexMasks=6.Tropical Forests/masks_tropical.dds

manny THX Sober,

could it be that this vanilla bug (missing texture, because of wrong entry in ini file) creates a mem leak ?

highly doubt it. Mem leaks usually are from pointers that are reassigned without releasing them first (thus nothing points to the object originally pointed to and thus no way to release it). This only applies to unmanaged apps (managed apps use non-deterministic finalization at least .NET languages do)

Sober, a dumb question. When corrected what does it change for the Tropical Forests mask?

Seaman_Hornsby 08-05-11 01:53 PM

Good catch. Does this fix that "blocky trees" problem? :hmmm:

THE_MASK 08-05-11 05:45 PM

I get the blocky trees if i use adaptive multi sample AA or super sample AA for the AA mode in CCC . If i use multi sample AA i dont get it .

this is the kinds of things I requested for a community patch, including the 2000 health on the conning tower instead of 200.
