close call or not

Before I started this thread I went thruogh the GWX 3 manual for an answer but couldn't find anything. Most likely I missed it. But anyway, The month and year is July 1940. I'm patroling in grid CG95, and very very close to the western approach to the Med. I was able to get 3 quick kills when I (my Hydrophone Man) detects a fast moving WARSHIP approaching. So I went into my defencive mode of either lining up to take a shot or runing and hiding, without risking the boat or crew whichever works,. As it turned out the WARSHIP was SPANISH, a neutral. He came within 2000meters of me and passed by without insidence. The 3 ships I sunk were ENGLISH. If the SPANISH WARSHIP had detected me, would he have attacted me ? Even though he's neutral ? I seriously thought he was on the hunt. For realism purposes I like to assume he was going for a "crew in the drink"
rescue.

No, he would not have attacked you. Neutrals are neutral in every way, and will only respond if attacked first. Of course if you had attacked a Spanish merchant then the warships would have been on the lookout for you, but after 24 hours all would have been forgiven. Silly, but it's how the game works. :sunny:
