Please help. How to make a really interesting arena for a tank battle

Hi guys

I see that you all have played a lot of tank sim games. I need an expert opinion on what the battle arena shall look like to be interesting for players.

We are developing a new “analog” tank game. The main difference is that the players shall drive a real radio-controlled tank model on a real arena. At the current stage we think that the arena size will be 157 x 157 inches (4 x 4 meters) to start with and the and the tank size 5 x 6 inches (12 x 15 cm).

We are going to start with some rural landscape.

Your advice will be very valuable for us.

Not an expert,

To start with, here's a little something pulled off Youtube:

Observe the sheer scale of the thing :)

Interesting video

What a great load of work.
We also hope to grow that large). Our battle fields are more decent. Don;t know how to add here a pic. The link to the Facebook album is http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...45728565498899.

But we are going to control the tanks from the first person perspective (thanks to video streamed from the camera on the tank). You'll not just see the enemy, you'll have fist to find opponents and only then deal with them.

I'll keep everybody informed on how we progress. You can also follow us on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Drone-...evelopers-Blog).

Thanks

Here is the video how the tank climbs through the terrain.
The perspective and speed will be adjusted.
What do you think, will it be possible to control the tank by the picture like this:
