Help with mods
Hi everyone.
I've played SH3 for a couple of years now, but only this month started experimenting with mods. This is my first post here, but I've been visiting for a bit and its been really useful, so thanks! I've now come up against a problem that I haven't been able to solve, and a few searches haven't been useful. I wonder if anybody here can work this one out. I'm running SH3 v1.4b with GWX Gold and SHCommander 3.2 (with the GWX fix), using Windows Vista. I have the following mods enabled using JSGME: GWX -16km Atmosphere GWX - Enhanced Damage Effects GWX - No Medals on Crew GWX - Open Hatch Mod GWX - VIIC41 Player Sub GWX - Late War Sensors Snorkel Antennas GWX - Alternative Flotillas LifeBoats&Debris_v4 ANZACMICKS DAMAGE IMMERSION I have to say, I'm very impressed and I love what I'm getting out of that setup. The only snag is that it only works when I load up SH without using SH Commander. When I use SHCommander to start the sim, my mods do not appear to be enabled. I've tried all manner of combinations of mods, I've also tried a few uninstalls, each with manual deletes and use of CCleaner and restarts before going with a clean install. After this, I came to the conclusion that its SHCommander causing the conflict. Does anybody know how to resolve this? Perhaps there's a particular way of installing them, an order I've got wrong? Is there a known incompatibility that I have missed? The worst thing is that I'm sure it was working before (but I may be wrong - after the first install, I checked in the academy). I had a career that I got five patrols in before noticing the mods weren't working. They may never have worked, as the first two or three were my August 1939 shakedowns with little action, and I only really noticed when lifeboats weren't appearing as I was sinking stuff. Secondly, I'm new to Commander. I like the extra little detail it gives, but do I need to launch SH from it, in order for it to work, or does it "know"? Finally, does anybody recommend any further "must-have" mods? Thanks a lot, guys! |

Commander needs to launched first and then launch SH3 from Commander, otherwise Commander options don't work. And if you like realism oriented mods, I recommend H.sie's and Stiebler's realism oriented mod. There's a sticky in SH3 mod workshop about that one. Welcome to the forum!:salute: |
I'm presuming you have opened JSGME (the one that came with GWX) and can see the mods enabled in the right hand column.
If that is the case, perform a rollback with Commander and create a new career. You could also upgrade Commander with the latest version: http://www.gamefront.com/files/17709755/SH3Cmdr32_7z |

Hi :DL
A 7z file is a zipped file using the 7zip programme. You can download it here: http://www.7-zip.org/. It is an open source programme which can zip and open in many different formats. Good luck |
7z is the best available.
