What is the scariest video game you have ever played?
I know its pretty hard to get scared in video games, however one game instantly springs to mind for those that can remember,Final Doom (sequel to the legendary Doom) on the PS1!. Playing this game with the lights off and headphones on was pretty bloody disturbing. One of the scariest levels in that game was near to the end,I can only describe the level as being immersed in hell itself, with burning skies and sounds of crying babies echoing around you,all the while being chased around the level by denizens of hell trying to eat you alive! :timeout:
Really,a fantastic game in the end. I miss the 90s...a lot :wah: |

In fact, that IS scary, scary that someone would even watch that tripe! Good one. |
The final level of Spear of Destiny was pretty scary to me.
Though it seems funny now. |

I liked "Dracula: Sanctuary" I think it was called. Loved the atmosphere and it was the first "3-D" game I had played. Kinda spooky.
Scariest game I ever played was World of Warcraft, but that was for completely different reasons than spooky factor. |
Hrm, I dunno. Cold Fear wasn't too bad, but it didn't give me the creeps like 'Shock 2 did. (How is it that psionic monkeys and large-breasted cyborgs could give me a scare, I really don't know)

Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl. That game is pretty much terrifying in parts.

I never really played that many games other than racing or sims. One of my favorites was Dino Crisis on the PS1 back in the day. That was the only game to ever make me jump when a velociraptor would jump through the glass onto you, or when the tyrannosaur would try to eat you in the office. That game had a great atmosphere!

Some of the scenes in the doom series gave me nightmares.
