Question about Juliet submarine.
 
In the game, it has 8 spare torpedoes but they can not be used to rearm front torpedo tubes. Something is wrong or is this really the case. I can not find correct information. :hmmm:

the 8 spare torpedos are the reloads for the aft tubes. the original design had no reloads for the forward tubes and to avoid the reload of the missile launchers, i made the mod based on the original specifications.however several of the real julietts were outfitted with additional forward reloads by drastically decreasing the living comfort in the forward compartment

jhapprich coming to help yet again. :)Thank you.:yeah:For the missiles i knew there is no reload until the submarine has return to base. So they have more 400mm torpedoes then 533mm. Interesting. :hmmm: So torpedoes actually are there mostly for protection of the submarine. Make sense, she is a cruise missile sub after all.

thats right. the intention was to use the sub as an expandable strike vessel to attack US Carrier groups.
Soviet Doctrine declared that the loss of one Sub was well worthy the destruction of such enemy capital ships.
the same weapons layout was used on the nuclear ECHO-II SSGN`s. they originially had no bow reloads,too. besides, the 400mm weapons were meant as means for ASW and anti-destroyer armament. i will deploy a realistic small 400 mm torpedo within the next mod update. best regards!

Another question. How do I increase the autonomy of the submarine when I sail only on batteries? Juliett should have an autonomy of approximately 1500 kilometers. I tried everything, but it is simply impossible to cover more than 150-200 kilometers.
I tried over the editor to solve the problem but when I enter the autonomy that I want nothing happens. Is this a limitation of the game or am I doing something wrong? Many times I have changed the autonomy and other parameters over the editor but I never had problems.
Another thing, how it is possible that when I go "ahead standard" or "full ahead" I cross a greater distance than when I go only 3 knots?

underwater range and performance is hardcoded by the game engine. since the original game simulates WW2 subs, the capabilities are rather limited. i recently recognized my PAPA class ssgn does not have such limitaions when playing at full relism, however i have not figured out why yet.

Just tried this Juliet sub. WOW! I don't think I ever had this much fun playing sub games! The cruise missile is soooo fun! Thank you JH for this gift. What a boat! Now, I have a question that everyone asked before, but to be honest, I can't figure it out. I want to translate German commands and menu into English, but can't find those files in my folder that need to be changed to menu_US.txt so that I can see english. Can you guys explain please a little bit more. I go to my MODS folder, find Project 651 folder, open Data folder, then Menu. Here in Menu folder I have menu.txt and menu_1024_768 files. Do I rename these?

Another small issue. I mentioned this earlier, but some forum member told me the standard "do it yourself" answer. Anyways, now I see this boat in game and I think I would repeat it. It looks too brand new with such a beautiful paint job. The colors are way too bright for operational sub. I grew up near Soviet submarine base on Crimea Peninsular and had never seen such a beautiful paint job on our subs, unless they are in the museum. Off course this is not a huge issue, but nevertheless, if it's not to hard to do, please make it look "used".

I'm assuming the Juliet was made for 1.5?

Yes, juliett is for 1.5. She is playable in the german campaign. Try to find 1.5 and you will have a blast, she is beautiful. :salute:
