Did SH3 get it wrong?

back in the dim and distant past, when I was playing SH3 and working out of Kiel, on route to the beloved Kanal I would, on occasion, tootle over to the soaring edifice of the Naval War memorial which dominated the right-hand bank, just to admire it and pay mental respects. Well, here I am at Kiel again, only now in my shiny new SH5 Untersee Boot, and I could not find it anywhere - it would be hard to miss. So, I googled and found that there is a U-boat memorial place approximately opposite the entrance to the Kanal - but it is a much less imposing structure and possibly set back from the shore-line as I could not see that either. The memorial I am thinking of is actually situated several miles north of the Kanal, just as Kiel Bay starts to narrow into a fjord - still on the right at least, but not at all where I think it is placed in SH3. Do I remember wrongly and is the Laboe Memorial in SH5? It surely ought to be. I would like to go see it if so :)

I believe that these were added by GWX and not in the original game. Pretty certain at least.

ah, disappointing for it not to be in the game, but never mind, can't have everything AND gorgeous graphics!

The Kiel Canal itself was not in SH3. It is a mod as well. First came the Canal, then came some trees and buildings, then came WAC and the Schleuse-Holtenau mod, which added the locks at each end, and finally the new Wilhelmshaven mod (part of LSH3 I think) which added the working lock gates.
